How to Stake TRX for Energy (Stake 2.0), Step by Step
Stake TRX for daily energy so USDT transfers stop burning TRX: how much you need, step-by-step staking, voting with it, and what to know before unstaking.

Staking TRX for energy gives your account energy every day, so USDT transfers stop burning TRX. Your TRX stays in your account; you can get it back with a 14-day wait.
Before you start
- Decide how many transfers a day you want covered. The energy calculator shows how much TRX that needs at today's network rate — typically thousands of TRX per daily USDT transfer.
- Keep some unstaked TRX for bandwidth and for fees on the staking transaction itself.
Step by step
- Open a TRON wallet that supports Stake 2.0 (most major TRON wallets do).
- Go to the resources / staking section and choose Stake (sometimes called Freeze).
- Pick Energy as the resource and enter the amount of TRX.
- Confirm the transaction.
- Your energy appears within a block or two and refills over each 24 hours.
Also vote with it
Staked TRX gives you TRON Power — one vote per staked TRX. Voting for a Super Representative doesn't unlock anything or cost extra, and it earns voting rewards. Compare SRs by voter APY on our Super Representatives page.
Things to know
- Energy per TRX changes. It's the network's daily energy divided by everything staked for energy, so it falls as more TRX is staked.
- Energy or bandwidth — you choose per stake. USDT transfers need mostly energy.
- Unstaking takes 14 days before the TRX can be withdrawn. See how to unstake TRX.
- You can delegate your energy to another address (for example a business wallet) without moving the TRX.
