TRON address FAQ
What does a valid TRON address look like?
It starts with T, has exactly 34 characters and uses base58 (no 0, O, I or l). The last characters hide a checksum, so a mistyped address fails validation.
Is a USDT TRC-20 address the same as a TRX address?
Yes. On TRON one address holds TRX and every TRC-20 token, including USDT. If an exchange shows a “USDT TRC-20 deposit address”, it is a normal TRON address.
Can a valid address still be wrong?
Yes. Validation only proves there is no typo. Address-poisoning scams use valid look-alike addresses — compare the whole address with the source, and check it for risk flags before sending.
Does the address need to be activated?
A new TRON address becomes active with its first incoming TRX or token transfer; the sender pays a small activation cost. You can send to a valid address that has never been used.
